How it all started

From one big dream to La Fabrika

From as long as I can remember, I always wanted to create. The idea of opening a shop popped into my head on a train to Switzerland (yes, ideas really do happen in random places.) One year later, with shaky hands and a big dose of guts, I signed the lease for a two-story space at the lively end of Dansaert street. Bes. Decision. Ever.

And the name? I know, La Fabrika doesn't exactly scream "Belgian shop". It actually comes from my Milan days, when I basically lived at a pizzeria called Fabbrica. I loved the food, but even more the feeling behind that name: creativity, personality, energy. When it was time to name my own shop, it just clicked. I added a K (for Kelly), and voilà: La Fabrika was born.

When it all began

In 2010, La Fabrika opened its doors. The budget was tiny, but the passion was huge. From day one, it wasn't just a shop – it was buzzing with energy, a place where people came to get inspired, talk design, share ideas and, let's be honest, sometimes just hanging out. Those first events gave La Fabrika its soul and shaped the community we still cherish today.

The little window with a big impact

Remember our second window? It became our stage to show off hand-picked brands, surprise passersby and experiment with stying. A small window, but a giant playground for creativity.

A bold move in 2020

Fast forward ten years: we moved to a new spot just down the street. Not bigger, but brighter and better located – right in the heart of Dansaert. The timing (hello, 2020) was tricky, but it pushed us to refresh everything: a reimagined showroom, a new logo, a new vibe. Same heart, new energy.

Coming home to WOW, every single day 

Fifteen years later, La Fabrika has grown into so much more than a shop. It’s a place where colour, creativity and personality meet. Every object is hand-picked – if it doesn’t make my heart skip a beat, it doesn’t make it into the collection. Our showroom is still our playground, where my team and I mix, match and create interiors that feel bold, personal and alive.

And beyond the shop, we’ve become an interior design studio too. Whether you’re after the perfect candle, a new sofa or a full-on renovation, we’re here as your creative guide. Because at La Fabrika, you don’t just buy an object – you take home a feeling. Coming home to WOW.  Every single time.
