Maria Scarpulla started with colour paintings - geometric shapes, pure and minimal. The Tramonti is what happens when you add light to that idea. The shape stays exactly as it is, and a soft glow appears around it like a halo. The result sits somewhere between a lamp and a wall sculpture, and it works beautifully as both.
